Preparing soil for planting potatoes

Finished digging the potato plot today. Then covered it with the polytunnel. This will keep the rain out, and allow the soil to dry ready for planting.

  1. This vegetable plot looks great and puts mine to shame! You are obviously dedicated topveg growers. I love sweet potatoes, is it possible to grow sweet potatoes in a vegetable patch? If so, how do you do it, when do you plant and where do you get the seed potatoes from?

    Thanks for your comment. Great idea to grow some sweet potatoes. They do grow in the UK altho they are tropical. They prefer a bit of help, like a covering of black plastic - or even a huge pot under glass.
    Thompson & Morgan have them in their catalogue
