- rosemary acts as a food preserver, slowing the growth of a number of bacteria such as E. coli and S. aureus that are involved in food spoilage
- rosemary is thought to stimulate hair growth.
- rosemary’s antioxidant properties may have activity against colon, breast, stomach, lung, and skin cancer cells.
- Though rosemary oil has been shown to have beneficial effects, the oil should not be taken internally. Use a tea instead. Pregnant women should not use the herb medicinally, although it’s OK to use it as a seasoning.
- To make Rosemary tea: put one teaspoon of crushed dried leaves in a cup of boiling water and steep for ten minutes.
