Pigeons eating broccoli
Please note that the photos in this post were taken in the garden of a 90 year old!! TopVeg prefers a tidier garden!!
Pigeons tend to feed on garden plants very early in the morning or in the evening, before roosting.
To deter the pigeons:
- hang CDs from strings, so that they swing & reflect the light
- disturb pigeons when they arrive, & shoo them off
- place a model cat or owl near the plants, to scare the pigeons
- make a scarecrow
Cover the veg with wire or plastic netting to keep the pigeons off.
It is worth perservering, because the pigeons will move on to an easier target if their life is made difficult.
