  6. Hi

just discovered your site through the river cottage forums - it’s great

i’m just about to move to my new house in the country and i was a bit miffed that i’d missed the main time for planting my own veg, but i read your garlic guide and i’ve started some on my kitchen shelf tonight - next month it’ll get moved into the garden of my new place

    heres hoping it goes well!!!

    cheers

  7. Hi Chris

Thanks for visiting TopVeg. You have not lost any time in the veg garden - it has been a late season - wet and cold, so the seeds are safer in the packet than in the soil - where they would probably rot off in these conditions.

In the left hand margin of TopVeg are some resources, including planting dates. If you click the link it gives you the planting dates of some veg - & April features in most of them! So you will be fine. This is the same link:

The trouble is you will have plenty to do if you are moving house! But good luck with the garlic (& the new garden!).
