Hazel Poles for Bean Wigwam.
Hazel poles make a strong wigwam to support runner beans and climbing french beans.
The bean plants do not have to be tied to the pole. They find their own way to the pole and then twist themselves around it.
Home grown poles may look more rustic and untidy, but they help to reduce our carbon footprint. The implications of using bamboo or plastic poles, and the airmiles involved, are considerable.
Hazel is a tree which benefits from coppicing. The long, straight sticks are a characteristic of hazel trees.

You know, I love rustic! Wood, clay, stone and rock. What a great background for plants.
Of course, I also love camping and cooking over a campfire.
One of these years I’ll make a twig fence. I really like how they look in a garden.

I love rustic, too. My ambition is to make a twig seat!
Good to hear from you
