Bird Friendly Slug Trap for the Gardener

Posted by TopVeg - December 21st, 2007

bird-table-newsBird Table News has pointed out that the Pyramid slug trap is bird friendly, as well as pet and children safe.

This trap catches the slugs, tempting them into the pyramid with natural bait - their favourite cabbage leaves or whatever they are after at the time. Once captured, the slugs are disposed of - and could even be used as natural food for the birds.

Slugs damage vegetables by eating the green shoots or the roots. A severe slug attack can completely wipe out a crop. But vegetable gardeners are cautious about using slug pellets, which poison the slugs.

The pyramid slug trap does not use chemicals, it traps the slugs, so they can be removed from the site. The site can be systematically cleared of slugs. The trap is then moved on to remove slugs from another area of the vegetable garden.

£19.95 incl. postage & packing.
