Christmas Vegetables from the Garden

This basket of vegetables was harvested from the garden on Christmas Day.

  • carrots
  • beetroot
  • parsnip
  • leek
  • brussels sprouts

  2. Who said you can’t have lovely fresh vegetables at any time of year, your harvest looks great. I have parsnips ready in the garden and leeks which are only small but still tasty, swedes which may be inedible they look very small! turnips and beetroot. Here’s hoping for an equally good harvest in 2008.

    You have got a great winter harvest, too! Leeks are unusual in tasting much stronger when they are small. I prefer swedes small,too! Beetroot is great hot or cold - Happy 2008 harvest to you!
