Sow radish and lettuce in cold frame
Plant garlic & onion sets if not already done
Crop:
celeriac, celery, leeks, parsnips,
sprouts, cabbages, kale
Jerusalem artichokes, & spinach beet
Other jobs:
- winter digging - on heavy soil, if weather good & soil conditions dry, using a spade. Light soils will not require digging and can be cultivated nearer to sowing time.
- source well rotted FYM if available
- order seeds from seed catalogues
- purchase and chit favourite varieties of seed potatoes
- net currant bushes so birds do not eat new buds
- cut down and remove asparagus ferns if not already done
- force rhubarb
- check stored produce
- buy a slug trap and start clearing slugs from the plot
