Leeks are really worth a go - as summer leeks, baby leeks &#038; all through the winter.  We dug one tonight!
They do require the same feeding/fertiliser regime as onions - but leeks need much deeper soil as they grow down a long way.  Also, leeks need more space and we plant them with wider rows.
The onion transplants should be placed just deep enough to stop them falling over.

		<description>We will have to try leeks on your recommendation, having never grown them.  Do they require the same treatment as onions?  By the way, I have some onion seeds that were started indoors and are ready to go outside, how deep do they go into the ground?
