Essential Gardening Tools
The basic list of tools for the vegetable gardener should include:
- spade
- rake
- trowel
- wheel barrow
- cart - to help carry large amounts of trash to the compost heap, & to carry tools (an old pram is ideal!)
- watering can
- protective clothing & sunscreen - hat and gloves
These nine essential garden tools will keep the vegetable gardener in good stead.

I just can’t work with garden gloves, I’ve tried. Guess I like the feel of the soil in my hands.

Hi Top veg, Am growing some radish and beetroot from seed this year. I planted both outside in the garden. They haven’t started to shoot yet. Do you have any advice on growing them from when they start to shoot to picking them. Am watering them every day. Thanks. Trisha from Bird Table News

Hi Trish
You can download these How to Grow Beetroot cards, & instructions for growing summer radish.
Hope that helps
