The root crops stored over the winter have kept the kitchen well supplied.
This photo shows white & red onion, carrot & beetroot which were used yesterday to make a soup.
The stored root vegetables are beginning to soften up now, and are starting to grow. The trick is always to provide vegetables in April when last year’s crops dwindle, & the new season’s vegetables bulk up.
