Reasons for Poor Plant Growth in the garden.

It is disappointing if the plants in the garden do not grow well.

Poor plant growth can be caused by a number of reasons:

  1. Lack of soil nutrients in the soil
  2. Shortage of water
  3. Poor drainage
  4. Weather – frost, strong sun or wind
  5. Pests and diseases

Different soils have different nutrient levels:

  • Sandy & chalky soils generally have fewer nutrients than clay or loam soils.
  • Not all nutrients in the soil are available to the plant roots. This is because the soil may be too dry, too wet, too acid or too alkaline to allow the flow of nutrients into the roots.

TopVeg are able to analyse your garden soil for you.  Send us a sample & we will have a look at it and do some scientific analysis.
