Daisybus Gardens  demonstrate how to garden your way to better health.

The Pembrokeshire Daisybus Gardens are near Solva on the St David’s Peninsula, a wonderful place to visit.  The Gardens are a series of fifteen themed plots and mini meadows designed to show how everyone can reap the many benefits of a closer connection with nature.  They teach that gardening is good for mind, body and soul; leading to a fitter, healthier & happier person.

Being outdoors can boost the ‘happy hormones’ which contribute to a more positive mood and better mental health.  Gardens are an ideal place to practice mindfulness. Professor Mark Williams   says: “An important part of mindfulness is reconnecting with our bodies and the sensations they experience. This means waking up to the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the present moment”.

TopVeg was named a Top 50 Healthy Living Blog in 2009 by The Health Sensei. They say “If you want to grow fresh vegetables for your family and plan for a constant supply, then visit this site (TopVeg) to learn more about how to accomplish those goals.”  To look at the rest of the list of Healthy Living Blogs, visit  http://mastersinhealthcare.org/2009/top-50-healthy-living-blogs/

TopVeg strives to demonstrate how easy it is to grow enough fruit & vegetables to feed a family, if the right systems are used.

Mollie Jolin has also written ‘Gardening for Health’ for TopVeg in 2010.

“Plant a Garden…Grow Happiness’ is the motto of Daisybus Gardens.  They demonstrate how to garden your way to better health.
